About the Job
The candidate will be responsible for content creation and execution of all external and internal communications for RYTHM Foundation (RF). In addition, the candidate will also be the brand custodian for RF and will oversee stakeholder communications and media relations for RF. The officer will be expected to develop and implement plans to engage the target audience and populate RF’s activities in relevant media platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Development
- Support and promote RF’s Strategic Plan and values, including message development, social media content creation and media outreach.
- Communicate stories about RF’S impact on communities and individuals through editorial content and marketing copy.
- Ensure digital news content aligns with RF’s brand’s identity and message, and to work closely with QI Communication Department and the respective programme teams.
Brand Maintenance
- Manage digital agency and digital assets including website, social media channels, and video library in line with a clear content strategy and editorial calendar.
- Develop and disseminate public relations materials that would increase RF’s visibility among stakeholders and partners.
- Work closely with Programme teams to ensure all RF-funded and collaborated projects are aligned with RF’s branding and visibility.
- Develop Foundation presentations for events/meetings as and when necessary.
- Seek opportunities to enhance the reputation of the brand and coordinate publicity events as required.
Communications
- Develop and manage RF’s media/communication database.
- Provide content for the communication department which will produce RF’s communication resources and materials (quarterly newsletters, annual review).
- Work closely with key stakeholders in RF and the Communications team to develop key messages and narratives, in line with raising awareness of the company’s social impact initiatives.
- Coordinate and work closely with external agencies and other service providers to develop videos and other marketing collaterals based on need.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with journalists and maintain a media database.
Qualification
Bachelor of Mass Communications/Journalism or related fields
Requirements
- A minimum of three years’ experience in the non-profit sector.
- Passionate about philanthropy and can support the organisation’s social impact aspirations through effective media communications.
- Proven success in developing and executing communications and marketing strategies.
- Good editorial judgement and experience in implementing communications strategies that leverage the power of online & traditional media and audience engagement.
- Proven success in a multi-cultural international setting.
- Ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks within identified time frames.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems quickly and effectively.
- Excellent writing and proofing skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Knowledge of other languages will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office, primarily Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good communication and administrative skills.
- Basic photography skills.
- Sound knowledge of SDGs.
