Wawasan QI Properties Sdn Bhd, the property arm of the QI Group of Companies in Malaysia, appointed Y.B.M. Tengku Dato’ Sri Azlan Ibni Almarhum Sultan Abu Bakar as its Chairman on 13 July 2009. At an official ceremony, Tengku Azlan and Dato’ Vijay Eswaran, Executive Chairman of the QI Group, officiated the appointment at the QI Operational Headquarters in Malaysia in the presence of senior management of the company.

Tengku Azlan belongs to the Royal family of the state of Pahang in Malaysia, and currently holds the prominent position of Member of Parliament for the district of Jerantut in the state of Pahang. His political lineage can be traced back to the Malaysian cabinet, where he previously served as the Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, and has also been the Deputy Minister of Transportation.

Wawasan QI Properties incorporated in 2006, has since been managing the QI Group’s investment activities in Malaysia. One of its flagship developments currently in progress is a 167-acre luxury resort in the area of eco-tourism in Kuala Rompin in Pahang in Peninsular Malaysia.

The QI Group welcomes Tengku Azlan and looks forward to the expansion of its property management division under his guidance.
