2012 begins to look like a promising year for the QI Group, with our successful membership into the Business Council for Sustainability and Responsibility Malaysia (BCSRM) just recently.

We stand alongside other reputable multinationals such as Sime Darby, Nestle, Maybank, PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia, Genting Berhad and Shell in this new membership which showcases and raises the profile of the Group within Malaysia significantly.

With this membership, we will be able to promote, develop and adopt sustainability within our business, especially through the various CSR initiatives conducted under the umbrella of RYTHM Foundation – the CSR arm of the QI Group and Vijayaratnam Foundation, its Malaysian Chapter. Hence, we will be very much involved in Sustainability and Responsibility efforts via the BCSRM platform.

BCSRM is a regional network partner of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and aims to translate the latest global Environmental, Social and Governance knowledge from the WBCSD into the Malaysian context.

The WBCSD is a global CEO-led coalition of some 200 international companies from 35 countries and 22 sectors, which shares a commitment to sustainability development. Collectively, members represent an estimated 15 million employees, USD7 trillion annual revenues and USD5 trillion market capitalisation.

BCSRM is a platform for all its members to share information and knowledge, run similar activities, and engage with media through valuable global news write-up.
