For over 40 years, the mission of the World Economic Forum (WEF) has been committed to improving the state of the world. Recently, having been made a Global Growth Company Partner member of the Forum, the QI Group had the opportunity to be present at the 43rd World Economic Forum of Davos, which was held in the Swiss Alps from 23 to 27 January, 2013.
Representing the Group was Executive Chairman Vijay Eswaran, who made his debut at this prestigious event that spanned over five days and included 2500 of the world’s top leaders and intellectuals consisting of businessmen, politicians, academicians, experts in media, arts and culture. The Forum has always proved to be an effective platform for insightful discussions on impending world issues.
Some of the world renowned figures who attended the forum, whom Eswaran had the pleasure of meeting, were Steve Forbes, President and CEO of Forbes, Inc., legendary Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan, Nobel Laureate Prof. Mohd Yunus, best-selling Brazilian author Paulo Coelho and even Hollywood actress Charlize Theron.
Given the Group’s focus in reaching out to international markets, including Turkey which is one of our largest, Eswaran was invited to attend a panel discussion hosted by the Istanbul Financial Centre Initiative on RISING VISION OF 2023: THE NEW FINANCIAL CENTER ISTANBUL. The panel discussion was broadcast on CNBC Turkey.
Also, on behalf of the QI Group, Eswaran was invited to join the Advisory Board of the Global Growth Community Advisory Council of the WEF. This is indeed an honour and a privilege; one which will position the Group at the forefront of decisions involving the state of the world.
