Forbes Middle East, which features articles and reports that are related to the Finance and Business world has featured prominent Malaysian entrepreneur, Dato Sri Vijay Eswaran who has been creating ripples in the global business world including education.

In its latest September edition, Forbes runs a double-spread feature, captioned ‘Never Stop Learning, Never Stop Seeking noting that Vijay Eswaran wants to transform higher education as he plans to make his latest venture a ‘Harvard of the East.’

The story, has generated a lot of interest amongst Asians and, particularly, Arabs in the Middle East after copies of the magazine hit the newsstands. More so, when Vijay Eswaran’s direct selling arm, QNET is holding its annual V-Convention in Dubai from September 8 – 12,which has attracted 15,000 global entrepreneurs.

In the Forbes article, Vijay Eswaran shares his thoughts about the potential of higher education in South East Asia and his vision for Quest International University Perak (QIUP) in Ipoh, which is a project undertaken by the QI Group, helmed by Vijay Eswaran in partnership with the Perak state government.

He explains that QIUP has already begun to attract the foremost minds in academia from across South East Asia, and is now looking to attract world-leading researchers and lecturers from overseas, to inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs, innovators, professionals and more.

The 57 year old Penang-born Vijay Eswaran who has a business empire that stretches across many parts of the world, is the executive chairman of the QI group, founded in 1998. It is an e-commerce based conglomerate with businesses diversified into retail and direct sales, technology, lifestyle and leisure, luxury and collectibles, education, training and conference management, property development and logistics.

The QI Group has regional offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, besides having a presence in nearly 30 countries through a wide range of subsidiary companies.

Vijay Eswaran has authored several books, including the popular The Sphere of Silence and his latest – Two Minutes from the Abyss.
