Dato Sri Vijay is a member of the World Economy Forum where he sits on the Forum Member Advisory Council and participates in WEF Summits as Panelist and Advisor within the Forum.

In the course of his session at WEF Dalian, he spoke on how to compete for the connected customer without losing the personal touch and while maintaining the human element and empathy.

Dato Sri Vijay is the co-founder and Executive Chairman of the QI Group of Companies. He is a disruptive entrepreneur, international business speaker and author of six books, the latest publication titled, Two Minutes From The Abyss (2016). He is also Chairman, University Council of Quest International University Perak (QIUP), established with the State Government of Perak.

WEF Dalian host, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang addressed a full audience at the Plenary Session, where he spoke on the Chinese economy and a new age, including briefly touching on the economic ambitions and aspirations of China.

During the speech, Li heralded globalization, saying that “it is bringing benefits to all countries,” although he acknowledged that countries may also face challenges along the way.

While positioning China as a global leader, the premier also reiterated his country’s commitment to addressing climate change — a reaffirmation which comes in the wake of the U.S. announcing its departure from the global Paris Agreement on the issue.

He further addressed the issue of protectionism, which many say China heavily practices, saying that “free trade is the foundation of economic globalization.”
