QI Group participated in the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2025, better known as Summer Davos, held in Tianjin, China. This year’s gathering spotlighted breakthrough innovation, collaboration, and future leadership, bringing together over 1,500 global leaders and innovators to tackle urgent issues including the rise of AI, economic uncertainty, climate stress, and a generational shift in leadership.

Representing the QI Group were Director of Finance and Planning Cathy Zhou, Chief Financial Officer YK Lee, and Quest International University COO Nicholas Goh. Their participation reflects the Group’s ongoing commitment to engaging in global conversations that shape industries and societies.

Reframing AI: Power with Purpose
Artificial intelligence dominated the agenda, not just as a tool for disruption but as a force that demands global coordination. Delegates debated AI’s rapid growth, geopolitical stakes, and the need for ethical frameworks.

For QI Group, where technology supports our work in wellness, education, and sustainability, these conversations reflect the very real decisions we navigate, such as how to deploy AI responsibly while balancing innovation with trust and human impact.

As some sessions focussed on whether the U.S. or China would lead the AI race, many, including our delegation, emphasised collaboration over competition, ensuring AI empowers people, not just power.

The Rise of the Next Generation
This year’s forum had a distinct energy, with young founders, researchers, and policymakers shaping the dialogue. Their bold ideas brought optimism, even as they faced complex realities.

That spirit echoed our focus on investing in people. Across our businesses, we have seen how the right platform, mentorship, and values can help emerging leaders thrive.

The intergenerational dialogue in Tianjin reinforced the need for environments where innovation and experience go hand in hand.

Adapting in an Uncertain World
Resilience was another key theme, on how organisations can stay agile amid global shifts and growing volatility.

As a group operating across diverse markets, we have long prioritised regional cooperation and long-term partnerships. These values align closely with calls at the forum to build for uncertainty while remaining rooted in trust and purpose.

Climate Solutions Meet Tech Innovation
Discussions on climate change focussed not just on urgency, but on practical tools, especially AI, to drive real progress. From predictive analytics to energy management, technology is helping reshape sustainability.

At QI Group, this intersection of tech and climate action is part of our strategic roadmap. Whether through operational efficiency or sustainable innovation, we see technology as a key ally in delivering meaningful environmental impact.

Shaping a Shared Future
Summer Davos 2025 was a powerful reminder that global challenges need shared responsibility and that businesses play a vital role in building solutions. From AI to climate, and from resilience to rising leadership, one message stood out: bold ideas must be grounded in values and collaboration.

For QI Group, the experience reinforced our commitment to building businesses that are not just future-ready, but future-responsible.
