The QI Group did its bit towards the worldwide relief efforts in Haiti, post the devastating earthquake that ripped through the capital of Port-au-Prince on January 12, 2010. The first earthquake was of a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 Mw. By January 24, at least 52 aftershocks measuring 4.5 or greater had been recorded. An estimated three million people have been affected by this catastrophe.

The QI Group, which is a member of the Commonwealth Business Council (CBC), joined hands with another CBC member, ICO Global Communications (ICO)to support the relief operations in Haiti. ICO Global Communications (ICO), and its subsidiary DBSD North America (DBSD), both mobile satellite
companies, are providing satellite connectivity assistance to support the relief efforts.

RYTHM Foundation (RF), the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of the QI Group is supporting ICO’s relief project by donating funds to secure various communication related equipment for the centralised communication hub that would benefit the relief agencies working in Haiti on rehabilitation projects. RF serves as the enabler of QI Group’s charitable endeavours and represents QI’s spirit, compassion and dedication to serving the communities in which it operates around the world.
