Vijayaratnam Foundation, the QI Group’s philanthropic arm in Malaysia, proudly brings Indian Carnatic music fans an evening of devotional music titled Bhajan Sandhya, by legendary Indian classical vocalist O.S. Arun. This highly anticipated event is a fundraiser for Taarana, a school established by the Foundation in Malaysia as a centre for children with special learning needs.

Details of the event are as follows:
Date: February 25, 2012
Time: 8 p.m.
Venue: Auditorium Malaysia Airlines (MAS Academy), Kelana Jaya

While Taarana already offers its students the best possible care and education, the school still welcomes on-going support from the public in order to make an even greater difference in these young lives. Hence, invitations for this concert are available only through donations of RM100, RM200 and RM300.

O.S. Arun, the star of the show, comes from a family of musicians and is known as the ‘prince charming of Indian Carnatic music’. He has a Master’s Degree in Carnatic music and a Sangeet Shiromani Diploma. His distinctive voice and ability to infuse new life into traditional compositions has earned him invitations to perform internationally from a very young age.

Arun, who was also the lead vocalist at the Dasavatar dance programme that Vijayaratnam Foundation organised as last year’s fundraiser for Taarana, has agreed to conduct a special workshop – the first of its kind to be ever held in Malaysia – for the first 100 music students who get invites to the event. The workshop is expected to take place on February 24, 2012.

Through this sacred evening of music , QI hopes to draw kindred spirits – Indian classical xnmusic lovers and connoisseurs who have a ‘heart’, to come forward and support our corporate philosophy of RYTHM (Raise Yourself To Help Mankind) as they do their bit for the children of Taarana.
