Graeme Lowdon, CEO of Virgin Racing, Vijay Eswaran, Executive Chairman of QI Group, Sir Richard Branson, Founder, Virgin Group at the QNet Press Conference in Abu Dhabi to announce the new partnership

Through the years, the QI Group has embarked on various strategic sponsorships in sports as part of our efforts to build a global brand. From badminton, to football, to motor-racing, there are very few stones that have been left unturned.  Now, to further build on the legacy already established through our podium-placing sponsorships, we have partnered with one of the most iconic brands in the world to announce our largest sponsorship venture ever made in the 12-year history of the company!

QNet, the international direct selling subsidiary of the QI Group, announced its exciting new partnership with the Virgin Racing Formula One Team at the final race of the 2010 F1 Season in Abu Dhabi.  This three-year partnership will see QNet becoming the Official Direct Selling Partner for Virgin Racing.

A direct selling leader in Asia with a significant presence in over 20 different countries, QNet’s involvement in motorsports began with its sponsorship of the GP2 Asia series, from 2004 to 2010. Moving into Formula One was a natural progression, and one that is expected to bring exposure to the brand on a global stage, as we step into one of the world’s most prestigious sporting arenas.

At the launch event, Vijay Eswaran, Executive Chairman of the QI Group and Sir Richard Branson expressed their delight at this new partnership:
Vijay Eswaran:
“The way I see it, it is the coming together of two dynamic lifestyle Groups –Virgin and QI. One established as a trendsetter globally and the other on its way there. For us, it was a decision made easy by the commitment and dedication shown by the Virgin team. Plus, of course there is always the Richard Branson factor which is undeniably a major plus point for us!

It is rare for me to come across another individual, especially one of Sir Richard’s stature who has the same viewpoint of life, as I do. I see this as the beginning of a journey between the QI Group and the Virgin Group with QNet and Virgin Racing F1 Team kicking off the journey.”

Sir Richard Branson:
“I am absolutely delighted by this news. Having been personally involved in the partnership discussions, it’s particularly pleasing for me to see this come to fruition. I look forward to working with QNet on this project and hopefully many others.”

Graeme Lowdon, CEO of Virgin Racing who was also present at the event, believes that the partnership will chart an amazing new horizon for both Groups.

For a conglomerate like the QI Group that has a hugely diverse business portfolio, this initiative is a powerful step towards developing a truly global brand, and hopefully one that cuts across borders in more ways than one.
