QI Services Malaysia Sdn Bhd (QISM), the operational headquarters of the QI Group of Companies, has been recognized as the Global Operations Hub (GOH) by the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA).
QISM which started as Operational Headquarters (OHQ) has now been listed under Global Operations Hub (GOH). In 2015, where only four GOH projects were approved by MIDA.
MIDA, in its Investment Performance Report 2016 released recently in Kuala Lumpur said QISM is a subsidiary of the QI Group, which is a diversified multinational with interests in education, hospitality, direct selling, financial services and retail. The Group has presence across 30 countries with key regional offices in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines.
“To strengthen its regional operations, QI has evolved its operational headquarters in Malaysia into its Global Excellence Hub to centralise the Group’s regional procurement and distribution, data processing and analysis, as well as training and personnel management activities. The company will provide employment for 251 Malaysians who will be trained in areas such as treasury management and business coordination,” noted the report.
“Having functioned as the operational HQ since 2006, we have evolved today to become a Global Operations Hub, thanks to the government’s support and incentives offered to QISM. We will continue to centralize more of our operations at QI Tower in Malaysia, a green building in line with the company’s commitment to preserving the environment. This will allow us to create synergy by encouraging knowledge sharing and pooling specialist skills in one location thereby enhancing standardization, compliance and productivity,” said Ms. Boey Kho, QISM Chief Executive Officer.
The QI Group’s Thailand branch, QI Services Thailand, is a member of the Board of Investment in Thailand as well.
